Is LeagueFinder free to use?

Yes, free for everyone — players and commissioners alike. There's no fee to browse listings, apply to join a league, or post an opening. The NBA season moves fast and leagues fill up quickly, so there's no reason to add a cost barrier on top of that.

What is an orphan team?

An orphan team is an active team in a live fantasy basketball league whose manager stepped away — mid-season or between seasons. Because the NBA season runs from October through June, mid-season orphan spots are more common in basketball than in other sports. Taking over an orphan team means inheriting a real roster and jumping straight into a live league without waiting for a draft.

How do I list myself as a free agent?

Go to My Profile after signing up and enable Free Agent Status. Add your preferred formats, scoring type (H2H points, roto), platform, and buy-in range so commissioners can find you when they have an opening that matches. Mid-season replacements often get filled this way — commissioners with an urgent spot go straight to the free agents tab rather than waiting for listing applications to come in.

What platforms does LeagueFinder support?

Listings cover ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, and other platforms. Commissioners specify their platform when posting, and you can filter by platform in the sidebar. There's no platform restriction; if your league runs on it, you can list it here.

What fantasy basketball formats are listed?

You'll find redraft, keeper, and dynasty leagues in both H2H points and rotisserie formats. Listings span full-season leagues as well as in-season orphan teams for leagues already underway. Yes — filter by "Orphan Team" to see active teams in live leagues that need a new manager. Mid-season spots can open at any point during the NBA season, so check back regularly or save searches to stay notified. Listing yourself as a free agent is also effective: commissioners filling urgent gaps often recruit directly from the free agents tab.
